Rayo Machado is a publicist, screenwriter, and assistant director from Belém, Pará. She has worked for over 10 years on independent short and feature films, and since 2019, she has been developing original projects focusing on the Amazon in narratives and practices "from the inside out," hacking and subverting colonial logics created about the region.
In 2025, Rayo was awarded a fellowship to the Maestría en Escritura Creativa, a master's degree from the International School of Cinema and Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba.
