Rayane Penha is a Black Amazonian woman, mother, filmmaker, and public administrator. She directed and wrote the documentaries "A letter about our place", "Utopia", and "This land is my quilombo" (quilombola community), and the short film "Seeds of Araguari". She was a screenwriter for the Netflix Brazil project Segundo Ato and directed the music videos “Oriki” by rapper Pretogonista and “Bandida Braba” by rapper MC Deeh. Screenwriter and director of the feature film "Chamado da Floresta", a project in development, selected by Lab Negras Narrativas (2020), FRAPA Lab (2022), the Colombian residency Desde La Raíz (2023), BrLab Features (2024), Incubadora Paradiso (2025), Bal-Lab 2025 (Biarritz Film Festival, France) and Meet Them 2025 (San Sebastián Film Festival, Spain). One of the founders and currently curator of Cine Catraia, which has been working for 10 years bringing screenings of Brazilian films to riverside communities in Amapá.
Rayane was selected for the Paradiso 2025 Incubator with the feature film project "The Call of the Forest" and became part of the Paradiso Talent Network.
