Nara Normande was born in Alagoas/Brazil. In 2014, she co-directed the short film “Sem Coração” with Tião, which won the Illy Award for Best Short Film at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. In 2018, her animated sand short film “Guaxuma”was one of the 12 shorts shortlisted for the César Awards and won more than 70 awards at prestigious festivals. Her first feature film, “Sem Coração,” also directed with Tião, premiered in 2023 in the Orizzonti competition at the Venice Film Festival. Nara is currently developing “The Last Mountain” and “Naked Land” her next projects as a solo director.
Nara was awarded a fellowship to attend TFL FeatureLab with her first feature screenplay, "Heartless", in 2020.
