Juliana Colares is a screenwriter specializing in true crime, suspense, action, drama, and thriller. She is currently in the writers’ room for a new family drama with political elements by Fernando Meirelles, based on a true story. She wrote the first season of Amazon’s “DOM”, a true crime series for Delicatessen (currently in development), and another for Ventre Studio, set for production in late 2026. She contributed to a thriller series for streaming with Coração da Selva and developed an episode for an international drama/romance anthology for Amazon. Juliana is the creator and writer of the dark thriller “Mangue Sujo”, which won first place at the 2023 Guiões Screenplay Competition in Lisbon. She co-wrote the documentary feature “Pureza.doc” with Marilda Donatelli and authored “Searching for Makunaima?”, Best Film at the 2020 Brasília Film Festival.
In 2021, Juliana was awarded a fellowship to develop the series project "Mangue Sujo" in the 19th edition of the Curso de Desarrollo de Proyectos Audiovisuales Iberoamericanos, a Spanish residency of the Ibermedia Program.
