Jô Serfaty is a director and screenwriter, holding an MFA in Film from UFF. She has made several short films and one feature film, Sun inside (2019), which won Best Film at L’Alternativa Barcelona. In addition to her authorial work, she directed the series, "Mutirão Saúde" (2024) and episodes of Caverna de Petra* (2022), "Back to School" (2023), and "Viver é Raro" (Globoplay). From 2021 to 2023, she served on the Sundance Festival fund selection committee and was a tutor at DOC SP, mentoring documentary projects. She is currently writing the screenplay for "Refestança", directed by Vinicius Reis (scheduled for release in 2027), and is in post-production on her first fiction feature, "Edge of the World", whose script received development awards from Globo Filmes and Vitrine at BRLAB in 2021, and was selected for the Paradiso Grant in 2024.
Jo received a Paradiso Scholarship for the Taller de Revisión de Guion from Cine Qua Non Lab. Jo was selected with the project "The edge of the world", scripted in partnership with Guilherme Zanella, for the Première category of Paradiso Incubator 2023.
