Flávia Neves studied Film and Literature at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), and Screenwriting and the Meisner Technique at EICTV – the International School of Film and Television in Cuba.

At the age of 16, she directed her first short film, “Liberdade”, which was screened at FICA – the International Environmental Film Festival.

She wrote and directed the documentary series “Amanajé, o Mensageiro do Futuro”, portraying 13 Indigenous communities from Brazil’s Central-West region. Her debut feature film, “Fogaréu”, premiered at the 2022 Berlin International Film Festival. She is currently developing the feature films “Última Fronteira” and “Tempo do Poder”. The latter received support from Ibermedia and participated in a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, through a fellowship granted by the Institut Français and Projeto Paradiso.

In 2021, after receiving a Projeto Paradiso fellowship to attend the Cité Internationale des Arts residency, she became a member of the Paradiso Talent Network.
