Iuli Gerbase is a Brazilian writer and director. Her debut feature, THE PINK CLOUD (2021), premiered at Sundance Film Festival, in the World Dramatic Competition. The film made Variety’s list of the 15 Best Films From Sundance and was called “A refined, accomplished debut” by them. It also made The Atlantic’s 6 Best Indie Films From Sundance list, where it was called “A clever and surprising Brazilian movie that was among the best offerings at this year’s festival." The film was a success among critics, with 95% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. Before The Pink Cloud, Iuli had directed and written six short films, including the award-winning The Stone (2018). In 2024, Iuli was selected for the Oxbelly Lab with one of her current projects in development. In 2026, another project was selected for Torino Film Lab - Green Narratives, and she became part of the talent network of Projeto Paradiso. Her films usually depict intimate stories unfolding in spaces that bend reality. Iuli holds a Master’s in Creative Writing and an undergraduate degree in Filmmaking.
