Rodrigo Lavorato is a producer, director, screenwriter, and audiovisual educator born in São Paulo. He holds a degree in Social Communication and Film from FAAP and a Master’s in Film Directing from TAI Arts (Madrid). He served as development coordinator at Pródigo Filmes, collaborating on large-scale projects for platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Paramount+, and HBO. Rodrigo is the co-founder of Ladaia, a production company dedicated to auteur-driven films with a strong focus on internationalization. Through Ladaia, he has produced standout projects such as the feature film Sofia Was, directed by Pedro Geraldo (awarded at FID Marseille 2023 and distributed by Vitrine Filmes), and the short films Those Who Move, by Stephanie Ricci (premiering at IFF Rotterdam 2025 and awarded at GO Shorts 2025, qualifying for the Oscars), and Casca, by Bianca Toloi (premiering at Animafest Zagreb 2025). He is currently developing Stephanie Ricci’s debut feature, Boca da Noite, supported by the 2025 Hubert Bals Development Support. As a director, he has made the short films Prime of Life and Last Days, both screened at national and international festivals, and he is developing his first feature film, A Boy, written by Giovanni Rizzo. Rodrigo also works as a project development consultant and audiovisual educator.
Rodrigo was selected for the Paradiso Incubator 2026 and became part of the Paradiso Network.
