Renata Spitz is a director with a degree in cinema from UFF and a master's degree in film studies from Universidade Lusófona (Portugal). In Lisbon, she published her first short story with Editora Infinita. She directed the short fiction films “Debaixo do Céu” (Poetic Expression prize at the Brazilian University Film Festival), “Encontro dos Rios” and “Aurora”, which were shown at various festivals and broadcast on Brazilian channels. In the documentary field, she directed the short film “Aruanda”, made in Portugal, and the series “O Vampiro de Niterói” (co-production with UOL and award for best online content WAN IFRA LATAM MEDIA 2021), ‘Sintropia’ and “Interiores”, both shown on Cinebrasil TV. She has worked as a researcher for Rede Globo's sports archive and is currently responsible for the Usina Viva film programming and coordinating research into Nova Friburgo's audiovisual archive and the Cabinet of memory, projects produced by Clovis Produções in partnership with Energisa and the Rio de Janeiro State Government.

Renata was awarded a fellowship to participate in CDPAI 2025 and became part of the the Talent Network.
