Maíra Oliveira is a screenwriter, director, educator, and critic, a graduate of UERJ and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Performing Arts at Escola Superior de Artes Célia Helena. Creator and head writer of Aruna’s Magic (Disney+), head writer for season 2 of City of God – The Fight Rages On (O2/Warner), and writer for productions such as Mila in the Multiverse (Disney+), Rich in Love 2 (Netflix), Dad Rocks, and An Unforgettable Year (Amazon). She directed the award-winning short film Encruza and worked on the development of over 30 projects for Globo, Canal Brasil, Netflix, Paramount, and HBO. As a screenwriting professor and consultant, she has mentored more than 200 audiovisual projects. Former president of ABRA (2021–2022) and Councilor of APAN (2024–2025), she has a special interest in Black narratives that challenge and subvert stereotypes.
In 2025, Maíra was selected for the Midpoint Writers' Room and became part of the Talent Network.
