Ivan Melo is a Brazilian producer and co-founder of CUP FILMES. He served as executive producer of the São Paulo International Film Festival and as artistic director of both the Paulínia Film Festival and the Paulínia Film Center. He was also the international acquisitions manager at CULT FILMS, one of Brazil’s leading art-house distributors in the 2000s. At CUP FILMES, he produced the documentary Alvorada, by Anna Muylaert and Lo Politi (Sheffield DocFest), and the features Body Electric, by Marcelo Caetano (Rotterdam), The Mother, by Cristiano Burlan (Best Actress – Málaga), and the award-winning stop-motion animation Bob Spit – We Do Not Like People, by Cesar Cabral, winner at Annecy, Ottawa and Tokyo Anime, and shortlisted among the 15 contenders for the 2022 Oscars. More recently, he produced Baby, by Marcelo Caetano, which premiered at the 2024 Cannes Critics’ Week, where Ricardo Teodoro received the Louis Roederer Rising Star Award.
In 2025, Ivan was selected for First Cut+ and became part of the Paradiso Network.
