Alice Name-Bomtempo is a Brazilian writer-director who moves between genres, themes, and formats, but her focus is on telling women stories through speculative fiction films. She holds a master degree in screenwriting from EICTV - Cuba and participated in Talents Buenos Aires 2019. Alice wrote the feature films Suture (Olhar de Cinema 2025), Airplane Mode (the most watched non-English language film on Netflix), Painless (in financing), and The First Fear (Vitrine Filmes), which will be her first as a director. She is a consultant for series (Trago a Pessoa Amada, Prime Box Brazil), feature films (Close To Midnight, in production) and screenwriter for series such as Beyond The Wardrobe (HBO Max). She directed the short films Nina and the Abyss (Rio IFF 2023), Wherever Our Favorite Streets Meet (Kinoforum 2017) and Every Memory Speaks of Me (Curta Cinema 2015). She is currently developing her second feature film, the sci-fi Map To Find What's No Longer Here (Cina Cina 2025).
In 2025, Alice was selected for the Cina Cina Residency, and became part of the Paradiso Talent Network.
