Thaís de Almeida Prado is a screenwriter, filmmaker, multimedia artist, and actor. Holding an MFA in Film (Screenwriting) and a BA in Performing Arts (Directing) from USP, Thaís’s work moves across disciplines, exploring boundaries between artistic forms. With the script "As Mulheres do Pau-Brasil", Thaís participated in Torino Film Lab Next Comedy and Talents BA, and received the Special Jury Prize at Arché Lab (DocLisboa). Thaís is the author of the children’s book "A Pequena Keruaka" (PROAC 22/2022) and worked as screenwriter and actor on "Cucumber/Knife". Thaís directed "Monstras", "Império", "Minha Parte", "Os Barcos", and "Nowhere", and created the performance "A Adormecida Que" for Peter Greenaway’s exhibition "Tulse Luper Suitcases". Thaís lived in Germany for four years, collaborating with artists and directing "Co2 and Other Toxins". Across their practice, Thaís combines poetic creation, research, and collaboration, investigating relationships between body, image, and word.
Thaís was awarded a fellowship to attend the TFL Next Comedy in 2022 with her feature film project "The Brazilwood Women".
